Old vines & great winemaker = one heck of a wine!

We’re thrilled to have Holloran’s Le Pavillon Pinot Noir back in the shop! This amazing vineyard, planted in the early seventies, sits next door to luminary site Winderlea (formerly the Goldschmidt Vineyard) and just down slope from the Maresh Vineyard. Very sought after and often difficult to come by, this bottling always seems to sum up the unique nature of the Dundee Hills so eloquently: red fruit driven profile with notes of truffle and earth.
Jay Sommers, who also makes phenomenal wine under his own label, J. Christopher, has made the Holloran wines since the late nineties. This 2008 bottling is an opportunity to taste what Jay turned out from a world-class vineyard and one of Oregon’s best vintages to date! The bottling also represents Jay’s last vintage producing the wines for Holloran. In 2009 the winemaking torch was passed onto the very capable hands of the assistant winemaker.
