Experiencing a legendary wine!
When asked a while back the hypothetical question, “if the winery was burning down and you had time to grab only one bottle, what would it be?”, David Adelsheim answered quickly and decisively. “1993 Elizabeth’s Reserve Pinot Noir”.
I had an opportunity to pop the cork on this benchmark wine recently with some friends. Here are my impressions:
Beautiful perfumed nose of red berries, cedar and grilled mushrooms. Once on the palate, tart Bing cherries prevail with bright acidity and silky tannins lingering.
Gorgeous wine at its peak. What a treat to experience such a beautifully constructed wine from one of the Willamette Valley’s founding wineries!
We have a bottle tucked in our new Ponzi Wine Bar Cellar for anyone that wants an extra special treat this holiday season.
