One of the few 2006 bottles in the shop…

It taunted me with its deep rich color. Having tried a 2006 Cristom the night before, I was on a roll and decided to go big with this bottle from Cheryl Francis and Sam Tannahill. Sam was formerly up at Archery Summit, the producers of one of my all time favorite Pinots. The nickname “The Hermit” was given to their son, and perhaps also as instruction to tuck this wine away for a while. I found it ripe for drinking at its 5 year mark. Perfectly dusty, concentrated and juicy while still retaining elegance in a hot vintage. Traditional Oregon Pinot to be sure, but a surprising and pleasing amount of power!

Silky on the palate, this wine was unforgettable because it lingered for hours! Vineyards responsible for this blend are Carabella, Maresh, Shea and David Hill…to name a few.
Only a few bottles left in shop… we’ve done the waiting for you.
