Notes from the field: by Tatiana

Fall has arrived, and so ensues a myriad of activity. One of my favorites is harvest at Ponzi. I’ve participated in just about every aspect of it, and I love the hustle, bustle, and electric energy as everything swings into motion. Picking started this week up in our stunning Aurora Vineyard. Fog embraced pockets of trees as workers clamoured through the vines, buckets laden with lush fruit. Miguel, our vineyard manager, orchestrated the workers with his ever present smile and serenity. He remarked on the beauty of the flavors he was tasting. Sweat beaded on brows as bins began to load up with picture-perfect clusters of beautiful chardonnay and pinot noir. The sun burned through the fog as picking came to a close for the morning. I cannot wait to experience the end result!
