With a name like David Polite, you know that he’s got to be a nice guy, but he’s also one heck of a winemaker! The Carlton Hill label was chosen for its depiction of one of his favorite hobbies as well as a common pastime at the estate. There have been many legendary all day long croquet games. Not surprisingly, you’ll often find luminary Oregon vintners deeply engrossed in their game, fueled by Pinot Noir!

This Estate bottling is comprised of the 777 and 115 clone of Pinot Noir. David fermented with twenty-five percent whole cluster, giving the wine that little bit of extra spice and depth. He puts only one quarter of the juice in new oak for a little less than a year. Viola! A perfectly layered and interesting Pinot Noir that drinks great now and will cellar for many years.
