J. Albin
J. Albin Laurel Vineyard Pinot Noir 2008
750ml
Andrew TurnerJohn Albin is a very talented winemaker. He made the wines at King Estate for many years and this Laurel Vineyard Pinot Noir is always one of his most complex under his personal label. The 30 year old site in the Chehalem Mountain range sits at a high elevation, which accounts for the wonderful freshness and high-toned acidity. The slower ripening Pommard clones lend lifted aromatics and creamy texture.

John Albin makes some lovely wines. He made the wines at King Estate for many years and this Laurel Vineyard Pinot Noir is always one of his most complex under his personal label. The 30 year old site in the Chehalem Mountain range at very high elevation. While the combination of Chehalem soils coupled with Pommard clones would typically impart dark fruit to the resulting wines, the elevation lends bright acidity, elegance with lifted aromatics and red fruit notes.
